Special Educational Needs
Welcome to our information about provision for our learners with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND). All governing bodies of maintained schools and maintained nursery schools and the proprietors of academy schools have a legal duty to publish information on their website about the implementation of the governing body’s or the proprietor’s policy for pupils with SEND.
The staff at Nelson Infant School pride ourselves on our inclusivity – all children are entitled to high quality teaching and learning. All staff adapt their planning, classroom environments and communication to the needs of all the learners in their classes. Nelson has excellent links with EPSS, Norfolk Speech and Language Service and many other external organisations and professionals. We ensure Inclusion and Learning plans are up to date and use Provision Mapper software to ensure reviews are timely and updates accurately represent the child at that point in time.
